MSD Lawrence Township

Early Learning Centers
A Place of Everyday Wonder

About

The MSD of Lawrence Township, a long time innovative leader in early childhood education, houses all kindergarten and pre-school programs in the Early Learning Centers located on the campuses of Amy Beverland, Brook Park, Mary Castle and Winding Ridge Elementary Schools.  Every aspect of the district's four Early Learning Centers - from the buildings themselves to the programs and curriculum - has been purposefully designed by highly qualified staff according to "best practice" research in early learning based on the Reggio Emilia approach.

Locating the Early Childhood Programs in a separate building on each of the four campuses provides an enriched environment for the district's youngest learners, combines resources, and maximizes the strengths of educators who specialize in Early Childhood Education.  Upon completion of kindergarten, students will attend one of the eleven MSDLT magnet elementary schools which house Grades 1-6.

Providing a continuum of high-quality and integrated educational experiences, all four Centers offer:

  • Preschool of the Arts (designed for children ages 3-5 and focused on individual expression and exploration in art, music, movement, and literacy)
  • Kindergarten
  • Childcare before and after school (6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.)

CCDF

The Early Learning Centers are proud to participate in the CCDF program.  You can obtain more information about this process at any of the Early Learning Center offices.  The CCDF state funded program provides financial assistance for families, based on income and those who are enrolled in school or working.  If you already receive funds from CCDF and would like to attend one of our Early Learning Centers, please contact your intake agent.  They will instruct you to do a change of provider, choose one of our centers, and complete a packet.

All four Early Learning Centers have successfully completed the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation process.

Earning the prestigious NAEYC accreditation is evidence of our district’s commitment to high quality, developmentally appropriate preschool.
