School Improvement Plan

In 1999, the General Assembly passed Public Law 221 which directs the principal of each school to develop a three-year "strategic and continuous school improvement and achievement plan" (SACSIAP) and coordinate an annual review of the plan.

The law specifies that the annual review must be made with the input of a committee of persons interested in the school including administrators, teachers, parents, community and business leaders appointed by the principal and teachers’ organization.

In addition, the state makes reference toschools working with approved improvement models and organizations.
